If you need to spend the night outside your hotel, this is the place to go. Try the Ipanema bar We where there together for a beer at the ipanema bar. Join in the fun and games. Very active at night time. Drink your drinks, then go shopping for your dreamgal. A hole bundle of fun Not for the prudish or faint hearted Every time I visit Singapore I'll have a night out here. Love love love it but nothing classy about it just deborchary Tee hee hee. Orchard Towers is a fun night out if you don't over indulge and become intoxicated, if you drink in moderation you won't get taken for a ride money wise.
Sure it is sleazy, that's why you go there, bit it is safe and i have never seen one incident in the10 years that i have been regularly visiting Singapore and Orchard Towers. Walk around and pick a club that you like and settle in for the evening or just a couple of hours, meet a nice girl, have a good time. Trouble only comes to you if you go looking for it, i have never had a problem at Orchard Towers.
This place smells of problems. You can see the atmosphere is "criminal" in there. Sex shops and some funky looking people selling their stuff. We passed by there during the day, but it was obvious that this place is not a good place to be. After reading other users comments - we are happy to never go there again.
I lived in Singapore for four years and visited this place in the late 90s when Top Ten was a happening place with good live music and Thai hookers who did not bother you unless you asked.
Lots of other bars with gals and reasonable booze prices. Was back for a visit this week and it has become a hole- Top Ten is now Top Five and has not renovated since and is a dump. Down escalator on second floor is broken and you need to leave by a side staircase that is dodgy. I did see a fight there in were three Malay locals shoved a broken glass in the back of a white guys head and he must have bled out-I took off after advising the bouncer of what I saw.
