A man has been charged at a Dubai court for allegedly strangling to death an African prostitute right after having sex with her at her place. The year-old Pakistani, an ironsmith, denied a murder charge at the Court of First Instance. He claimed he had no intention to kill the woman. During investigation, he claimed he was provoked after the victim stole Dh from his wallet while he was in the toilet. According to the Dubai public prosecution records, the defendant had a quarrel with the victim after she took out Dh from his wallet.
He grabbed her by the neck from behind and kept strangling her until she fell down motionless. A police lieutenant said they had to break open the victim's flat door after receiving a complaint about foul odour emanating from her place in Al Baraha.
We heard from the Indian watchman that neighbours had been complaining about bad smell coming out from the flat. Even after the hallway was cleaned more than once, the smell remained and worsened.
So he called the police after no one opened the door. The officer added: "We found the body lying on its side and in a decomposed state near the bathroom sink. We then called for the forensics expert. The flat key and her mobile phones were missing so we suspected foul play.
One of the victim's mobile phones was found at a shop and officers from the criminal investigation department came to know the accused had sold it there. The police tracked the defendant down to his place in Al Ain after checking the last phone calls she had received prior to her murder.
